Child care inspections & ratings — look before you choose
Search regulated programs by state, county, city, name or near you. Results stay on this page: a map and a sortable table of inspection violations, serious violations and quality ratings. Wisconsin is one selectable state — not the only geography.

Why this matters for co-parents
- Choosing care together. Inspection counts are neutral public records — the same published numbers for every program — when parents disagree about a provider.
- Not only cost. Treating daycare as a pure utility purchase can fuel animosity. See when a fit parent is available.
- Read the reports, not just the number. A violation can be paperwork or a supervision lapse. Open a program (map pin or name) to read each visit’s DCF/agency violation narratives on this page.
Find and compare programs
ZIP-code search is not available yet; use the city, or “Use my location” for a radius. Your location is rounded and used only for this search — it is never stored or put in the address bar. Tuition rates are hidden for now while coverage is incomplete.
How to read these numbers
- Violations are rule violations cited during inspections over the program's recorded history. Serious violations are the subset flagged as serious. Counts are totals, not rates.
- Quality ratings (e.g. Wisconsin YoungStar) when the state publishes them. “Not rated” is common and is not by itself a bad sign.
- Compare like with like using the type filter. Read the linked inspection history before deciding.
Informational only. BMD does not rate or endorse any provider; counts may lag the state’s own site.
